There are many good definitions of art, and I won’t be very original giving my own one but I’ll try.
Art is the use of skill (that is talent and technique) and creative imagination, producing aesthetic objects. Art is the activity, by which a person transmits his/her individual idea and emotion to other people.
I believe talent is the most significant factor while creating an art object, but together with a well-developed technique a person may create a really unorthodox thing. I think each object of art conveys a certain idea (what for and why it was created) and emotion, which the author felt during the process.
